Xmas Day

Merry Xmas everyone!

Here I am, alone managing a hotel for xmas.. I am soooo bored! It's only a very small hotel of 34 rooms and there is not much happening at the moment. I am waiting for my last 2 arrivals and then I will close up at 4pm. The printer is also driving me insane.. it doesn't want to feed the paper through!? I don't know why & it's really really frustrating! How am I meant to run EOD (end of day) if it doesn't want to print?? Stupid printer.

Anyways after work I'm going to go to the city to meet up with my hubby, that I haven't seen since yesterday morning (miss him). We're going to cook chicken & veggies for dinner tonight, I'm going to convince my hubby to do it on the bbq.. I love it!

Wishing you all a very happy Xmas!

Almost xmas..

Firstly I would like to post another photo of the cute little Parisa...

The past week..
Tues - had it off, took it easy, relaxed as any pregnant woman should do :) Got bored of my computer so I've started laying puzzles..

Wed - planned to go into the city to see immigration department, but it was 41 degrees outside, so I decided to stay in most of the day. We went to a car mechanic in the morning that was going to quote us on how much it what needed to be fixed on the car to get a pink slip. 2h later I returned and he advised me that several things had to be done for him to issue a pink slip, total cost around 1000 dollar (5500 sek), we didn't want to settle on what one mechanic said so we went to another that said that our muffler was leaking (avgasrör) and if we fixed this he would pass our car. We left the car at the mechanics for them to install a brand new muffler ('only' costed us 320 dollar) so a lot cheaper than the other one..

Thurs - picked up the car & got our pink slip..

Fri - back to work again & after I saw my doctor for a general check up.

Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue - working, working, working, working

Wed - Went to Medina Classic in Crows Nest, the property I will be looking after this holidays (the manager of that property is on annual leave). When I got home I started cooking - Jansson, meatballs & rice porridge....

Now I'm hungry and gotta feed the baby ;)

First hospital visit, week 17

Yesterday we went to visit the hospital where I will deliver our baby.
She weighted me (I haven't gained any weight), took my height and checked blood pressure and other measurements...
I was healthy. The midwife had a lot of questions about my health, medical history (both physical and mental - we all know that I am mental.. moahahahah) and about my familys' medical history, etc. After the interview my hubby joined us and we asked her some questions on what's happening next and what can we expect and what we can do with my head-spins... (eat small meals more often so that the sugar level doesn't drop too much). Anyway, our next appointment is in week 19 (29/12) when we are going to do an ultrasound to check so that the baby is growing and how it looks (I can't wait!!). The meeting after that is with a specialist (obstetrician) on the 27th of January. We are also going to sign up for antenatal classes (parent classes, how to deliver etc) from week 26.

Meeting Parisha

On Sunday we went to meet the newborn, Parisha, she was born on Tuesday, after 4 DAYS in labour!!! My hubby got really excited (he's holding her).. when we left he said he can't wait for his own soon.. (only 4 ½ months left)

Our xmas tree & the garden..

This is our tree..

It's almost time to eat the first home-grown tomato! Yeay!!

And look at the chili grow :)

Xmas party

We had our Christmas party on Friday (11/12).
We started off meeting at the hotel and exchanging gifts, I received a Winnie the Pooh blanket for my bub. Then we drove (I was a designated driver) to a Brasilian Restaurant in Coogee where we met up with Travelodge Manly. We has lovely barbecue & wine (not for me obviously - I had sparkling water). Here are some photos..

Weekly Guide to Pregnancy: Week 16

Weekly Guide to Pregnancy

Your Baby

How big is my baby?

This week your baby is approximately 11-12cm (4.3-4.6 inches) long and weighs about 80 grams (2.8 ounces).

All embryos start off looking much the same, as far as outward appearances are concerned, but this week sexual differentiation is more definite. Your baby's legs are now longer than it's arms, and they are moving around. It may be possible to feel your baby move (described as "quickening") but don't worry if you haven't felt movement yet - it will happen some time between week 16 and week 20.

I felt it.....

Today I felt my baby for the first time.. it was unreal..

I was at work and I felt like I had butterflies in my tummy, I turn to a colleague of mine to ask her how it feels the first time, and she said it had a ticklish feeling.. So I got my butterflies confirmed.. so exciting :)

Now it feels more real.. I know I've noticed that my body has gone through changes, but now when I've felt it, its sooo cool :)

Some info I found on Essential Baby :

How big is my baby? This week your baby is about 93-104mm (3.7-4.1 inches) in length and weighs approximately 50 grams (1.75 ounces). The fetus continues to grow rapidly, and is starting to look more and more like a baby. The external ears and eyes well developed, and lanugo (a fine, downy hair) covers the body. As the neck further extends and the chin becomes prominent, the head becomes well defined. Your baby may start to suck its thumb.

What pregnancy symptoms will I be experiencing? By now you will be able to see some external signs of pregnancy, as your ordinary clothes might not fit and you may need to start wearing maternity clothes.
